Wood Railings

Strongly recommended on concrete construction (vs. our cable system), our OSHA compliant perimeter wood railing system uses 2x4 lumber for top-rail and mid-rail, with 1x4 lumber used as a toe board. Our proprietary quick-fit system allows our safety crew to work swiftly with other trades in providing controlled access to the leading edge. Safety Guys® employs its quick-fit system whereby vertical posts are easily inserted and removed to allow other trades (e.g., window installers, masons, etc.) to do their work without damaging or removing an entire section of railing and jeopardizing safety.

Typically, orange debris netting is attached to the railing for extra protection to minimize loose debris from blowing off the building.

All materials will be recycled to the upper floors where needed when permanent edge work is completed.

Anchor Straps

It is of critical value to a job-site to have properly located anchor points for all your workers. Safety Guys® designs an optimal anchor strap location plan, and coordinates with the shell contractor to install the straps in the columns. Once a perimeter is permanently protected, the straps can be easily cut to visibly remove them from the columns.

Typically, our well-trained crew will install one strap on two sides of every perimeter column, and two at each elevator shaft opening.

Our designs ensure that all workers exposed to a fall can easily find and reach an anchor point, as installation points remain consistent across the floors.

Customized to your job, we can install safety strap anchor points to your specific needs.

Hole covers

Safety Guys'® diligent crew assures that all holes greater than 2" are safely covered and properly marked. Various hole covers are available.

3/4" plywood hole covers can be fastened down to the deck, or the hole cover can be cleated for easy removal while maintaining its position over the hole. Metal plate hole covers are strong, durable and clearly marked. All hole covers are maintained by Safety Guys and recycled to the upper floors to maximize cost efficiencies.

Temporary Stairway Railings

We furnish materials, install and maintain temporary stairway railings. As soon as permanent stairway railings are ready to be installed, Safety Guys® remove and recycle all materials to the upper floors.

Elevator Shaft Protection

Safety Guys® furnishes materials and installs a very unique safety railing / barricade at each elevator shaft opening that is easily removable to accommodate the block masons, elevator installers and drywall installers.

Materials get recycled to the upper floors as soon as permanent doors are installed to take full advantage of cost reuctions.

Elevator Decks

Safety Guys® provides materials and labor to construct an elevator shaft deck to maximize safety and to eliminate long, open areas of elevator shaft from top to bottom. We recommend our crew install these plywood safety decks every 3 floors to protect against long falls. Our trained crew can also waterproof the decks to minimize water damage and maintain maximum safety.
